youtube revolution, 2008
Using only material from youtube, this video of the fictitious youtube revolution parallels the Cultural Revolution of China. This work comments on youtube's immense number of futile videos available. Set in the near future, the story follows how youtube users protest against the loose regulation of incoming videos feeling dissatisfied and disgusted by the standard. The video comes to an end after the destruction of youtube whereby all digital material is erased and lost. It ends, however, by leaving the viewer to contemplate whether it was really an act of triumphant or of blind rage fueled by terror and fear.
